Duterte warns China not to drill oil, uranium in WPS on its own

President Rodrigo Duterte said that their will be trouble if China will explore and drill oil in West Philippine Sea on its own.

“Pumunta ako ng China when I was there. I was with the military, Lorenzana, Año was the Chief of Staff, dinala ko sila when I was talking to the Chinese,” Duterte said during the Conference of the League of Municipalities (LMP) Visayas Island Cluster in Cebu City on August 21.

“Sabi nila wala akong ginawa, wala akong sinabi. Well, hindi ko sinabi. I don’t bother – answering critic. Nandiyan sila lahat. The Cabinet, bilateral kami,” he said.

He said he told Chinese President Xi Jinping that the Philippines also has a claim in West Philippine Sea.

“You know we have the award. But I will not insist on recovering the award because it would result in a war, and it will be a massacre. I know. But please be it noted that one day during my term, I will assert,” he said he told Xi.

“Ang assert ko, ano? Ano, bakit? Iyong oil. Eh kung solohin mo, gu – gulo talaga ‘yan. Because if you struck oil now, ano ba naman ‘yang dagat? Pasagdi. Imo na tanan, suyopa,” he said.

“Pero p***** i** ‘yung mga uranium diyan, ‘yung mga… Ah mahirap ‘yan. Iyong oil, mahirap ‘yan. Diyan magkadiperensiya na tayo, diyan mo na makita si Año magdala ng sundang didto sa – panigbason ang mga Intsik,” he added.
