Duterte slams Canada for cancelled 16-helicopter deal

Speaking at the General Assembly of The League of the Municipalities Of The Philippines (LMP) on March 20 in Manila Hotel, President Rodrigo Duterte slammed Canada for the cancelled deal on 16 Bell 412EPI combat utility helicopters with Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC).

“Nakita mo naman nag-order and military, Air Force, ng attack helicopters. Tingnan mo how stupid the Canadians are, very stupid. Pumayag sila na mapagbili,” President Duterte said.

“Noong mag-deliver na sabi nila: ah but you cannot use these for military or punitive actions by the police. This is only good for evacuation and ‘yung mga humanitarian,”the President said.

“Na naloko na. “You cannot use these against your own citizens.” My God, you Canadians how stupid can you get. Our citizens are joining the ISIS so we have every right to kill our citizens because we do not want to destroy the community with apathy,” President Duterte said.

“Kaya the way you treat us, you’re treating us like a garbage. The entire community of the world should know that there is a Republic of the Philippines which you cannot just f***** s***,” he said.

On February 13, the Department of National Defense (DND) officially terminated the contract.

“The termination was precipitated by the review ordered by the Canadian government on the implementation of the signed Contract Agreement between the DND and CCC,” the DND said.

“While the combat utility helicopters being purchased are primarily for the purpose of transporting personnel and supplies, the Department believes that it does not owe the Canadian government any justification for an outright purchase of equipment from a privately-owned company,” the DND added.
