“At this time, I am really playing geopolitics. You know, I have nothing America. I have nothing against the Americans. As a matter of fact, I know the bond that exist [between Philippines and United States armed forces],” President Rodrigo Duterte said during the groundbreaking of Vista Alegre Homes for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) on May 20.
“Most of our military men and police, most of them who graduate, go to America to take special courses there. Sa police, investigation, they go to Quantico. Of course, I realized that,” he said.
President Duterte said the military and police can keep the bond with American counterparts, however, he said the United States is not consistent.
“But you know, ako naman. Keep your camaraderie with them, the ties that bind you. But remember, America is not a country that is consistent also,” he said.
“Ang problema kasi sa America ganito. They think that they are a separate kind from the rest of the world. Maski na anuhin nilang pretentions that they… Lumalabas talaga ‘yung pagkaano nila. Pagka-bigots,” he said.
