According to Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Step 2 Registration for the PhilSys started this month on a gradual, small-scale basis to ensure safety of the PhilSys registrants and registration staff.

“The initial phase of Step 2 Registration will run from January to April 2021 to register 10.5 million Filipinos who completed Step 1 Registration in 2020,” PSA said. “Step 1 Registration involves the collection of demographic data and scheduling of appointments for Step 2, which is the validation of supporting documents and capturing of fingerprints, irises and facial image at registration centers.”

“Step 2 Registration will open for a small number of registrants in the first week of January 2021 in San Pablo City, Laguna. This will be followed by the opening of a limited number of PhilSys registration centers in the provinces of Bataan, Zambales, Batangas, Cavite, and Rizal in the succeeding weeks. The PSA aims to start Step 2 Registration in more provinces by February 2021,” PSA noted.
