President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the military and police to prepare to takeover the enforcement of social distancing amid the government’s effort to prevent further spread of virus causing COVID-19 pandemic.

But kung sabihin talaga ninyo na gutom na, walang pagkain – paalamin lang ninyo ang barangay captain and I’m sure that you would have the food needed to be on the table,” President Duterte said in his address to nation aired evening of April 16.

“I’m just asking for your, disiplina, kasi ‘pag ayaw ninyo, ayaw ninyong maniwala magtakeover ang military pati pulis,” the President said. “I am ordering them now to be ready.
