Duterte orders crushing of Abu Sayyaf

President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the crushing of terrorists who perpetrated the Jolo cathedral bombing on January 27.

The President made the directed on January 28 when he visited the blast site at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Barangay Walled City, Jolo, Sulu.

The military identified the Ajang-Ajang group as the perpetrator of the bombing.

“Based on the CCTV footage recovered by authorities, the Ajang-Ajang group perpetrated the said bombing incident,” Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Western Mindanao Command (WESTMINCOM) said. “Ajang-Ajang is a notorious group linked to the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) in the province of Sulu.” 

National Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said the President ordered the crushing of terrorists.

“On the Abu Sayyaf – Crush them,” Lorenzana said as quoted by Manila Bulletin. “Yes, and for all the atrocities they have committed so far.”

“Basically, his marching order was all-out war [against] the terrorist groups. Run after those mass murderers and give justice to their victims,” WESTMINCOM public affairs officer Colonel Gerry Besana as quoted by Inquirer.net.
