Duterte on Lacson: Trying to be a crusader but ignorant

President Rodrigo Duterte has slammed Senator Ping Lacson for right away giving comments on every issue.

“I think he’s running for President. But I would caution him to be more circumspect because pagdating ng panahon ‘yan, ‘yan ang magagamit ng mga ano niya, mga kalaban niya. Sheer ignorance. Trying to be a crusader but ignorant. ‘Yung mga ganon,” President Duterte said during the oath-taking of League of Vice Governors of the Philippines on September 10.

“Noong nabalitaang ano… ‘Yang mga – the penchant for politician to think that they are the only honest men and women in this world. Gaya dito ni Gordon, Lacson. ‘Yang nagpapa-hero, ‘yung may issue ano agad,” Duterte said.

“When I said that the policemen can accept gifts in gratitude but in small token, I was stating the words of the law. Hindi man nila alam na ano. I can forgive Lacson for coming out with an erroneous tongue,” he said.

“Pero ang hindi ko matanggap itong si Robredo na abogado. Sinabi, “You are giving an illegal order.” Ano, mga abogado man kayo ‘yung iba dito. Nandiyan mismo sa Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Law. Merong sentence diyan exception,” he added.

“If the gifts are given in gratitude and in nominal – and tokens – that is allowed. That is what I used when I said that you can. Eh si Lacson, “Mr. President, do you know na…” Tahimik lang ako,” Duterte said.
