Duterte not entering into new military alliances

President Rodrigo Duterte said that there will be no new military alliances with China or Russia amid growing relations with the two countries.

He said that China and Russia are not demanding anything from the Philippines even after providing military aid.

Ni hindi nagsabi na: Pwede kaming maglagay ng base diyan?,” President Duterte said on January 28 when he visited Jolo, Sulu.

“Ang pinakamalayo nila is: Tignan mo ‘yung mga barko namin, mayor. Magaganda. Paparking kami. Eh lahat naman dadaan. Goodwill ‘yan eh. Totoo ‘yan,” he added. “No military alliances. Wala.
