Duterte not declaring nationwide martial law, but may use ‘strongest tools’

President Rodrigo Duterte has said that he will not declare nationwide martial law, however, he may use the strongest tools possible if forced.

“It’s about halfway of term now exactly. Yesterday was half of my – so the remaining half. If I cannot do miracles for this country then I will just say that you know let us just respect each others. Huwag ninyong sobrahan. Do not force me to do something,” he said at the birthday/thanksgiving party of former Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano at Marco Polo Hotel, Davao City on October 28.

“I will not declare martial law but just like what I’m doing, I will go for the strongest tools – political tools in my hand,” he said.

“Drug problem, it will remain the same especially if you are a drug lord, I would be happy to kill you. My God I will be happy to kill you. Just don’t f*** with my country,” he added.
