Duterte meets American delegation in Malacañang

President Rodrigo Duterte conducted a meeting with American delegation headed by Ambassador of the United States to the Philippines Sung Kim on February 13 in Malacañang Palace.

Ambassador Kim was accompanied by Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Lawrence Hardy, Econ Counselor of the United States Embassy David Schnier, and Defense Attache Colonel Ernest Lee.

Accompanying President Duterte were Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Carlos Dominguez III, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez, Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, National Security Adviser (NSA) Secretary Hermogenes Esperon, Jr., Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) Chairman Eduardo Del Rosario, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary Ernesto Abella, DFA Assistant Secretary Maria Andrelita Austria, and DFA Director Maria Corina Reyes.

A day after the meeting, Filipino government and military officials headed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea visited United States Navy Nimitz-class supercarrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70).

Moreover, the US Embassy announced that it has committed P5.2 million for Mayon emergency assistance through the USAID.
