“Magkita tayo Sison sampalin kita, tignan mo,” President Rodrigo Duterte said during the establishment of TienDa Para Sa Mga Bayani: TienDa Farmers and Fisherfolks Outlet in Partnership with Armed Forces of the Philippines in Camp Mauel T. Yan, Jr., 10 Infantry Division, Brgy. Tuburan, Mawab, Compostela Valley.
The President was referring to Jose Maria Sison the founding leader of Communist Party of the Philippines. Sison is currently exiled in the Netherlands.
“Sige, umuwi ka – tikim ka talaga sa akin,” Duterte said.
“I used to listen to that God**** Sison. But there is a time na idealistic ka, but there is a time na praktikal ka,” he said.
“Presidente na ako ngayon, tapos maghingi kayo ng coalition government. You know coalition runs – has something to do with the critical decisions of the Republic of the Philippines. And according to the law, only those persons who are elected by their leaders – by the people can exercise the power of sovereignty,” he said.
The President said he used to be friend with the communists.
“Noong kaibigan tayo wala akong napagkulang sa inyo. I wanted to talk to you but the arrogance of being there with a gun… Alam mo ang tao hambugero eh,” he said.
“Makahawak lang ng armas ayon. Especially doon sa bukid. Makakita kayo ng armas maglalaway-laway lang kayo, ngayon you’re holding and you think that you are God,” he added.
