Duterte inspects recently delivered C-130, Black Hawks, Super Tucanos, Hermes UAVs

President Rodrigo Duterte today, February 12 personally inspected the newly delivered assets of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) at Clark Air Base in Pampanga.

The air assets he inspected were one (1) unit C-130H, six (6) units S70i Black Hawk Combat Utility Helicopter (CUH), six (6) units A-29B Super Tucano, six (6) units Hermes 900 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, and four (4) units Hermes 450 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle.

The C-130, delivered last month, is the first of two refurbished C-130 aircraft acquired through joint funding by the Philippine government and US government through its Foreign Military Financing program.

The S-70i Black Hawks, delivered fourth quarter last year, are part of the 16 helicopters ordered from Polish company Polskie Zakłady Lotnicze (PZL) Mielec. Remaining 10 S-70is are expected to be delivered in 2021.

The Super Tucanos, also delivered fourth quarter last year, were acquired under through the Close Air Support Aircraft (CASA) Acquisition Project.

The Hermes UAVs were acquired through the UAS Level 3 Acquisition Project.

He also witnessed the ceremonial distribution of food packs to a number of beneficiaries and the conferment of the Order of Lapu-Lapu with the Rank of Kamagi to selected awardees from the PAF, Philippine Army and Philippine Navy.
