DND chief extends sympathies to families of 3 airmen, 3 pilots in Blackhawk crash

National Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana has released a statement regarding the crash of one Philippine Air Force (PAF) S-70i Blackhawk helicopter. He extended sympathies to the families of three airmen and three pilots of the said helicopter.

“We at the Department of National Defense extend our deepest sympathies to the families of the three pilots and three airmen of an S-70i Blackhawk helicopter of the Philippine Air Force who perished when their [helicopter] crashed in the vicinity of Crow Valley near Clark Air Base, Pampanga, after undertaking a night proficiency flight on Wednesday evening, June 23,” Secretary Lorenzana said.

“In the meantime, the entire Blackhawk fleet are grounded while the incident is being investigated,” he added.
