DFA protests China’s incessant deployment of assets near Pag-asa Island


The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has lodged another diplomatic protest against Chinese vessels continuing illegal presence in vicinity waters of Pag-asa Island in West Philippine Sea.

DFA said in a statement that it “lodged a diplomatic protest yesterday (May 28, 2021) against the incessant deployment, prolonged presence, and illegal activities of Chinese maritime assets and fishing vessels in the vicinity of the Pag-asa islands, demanding that China withdraw these vessels.”


“The Pag-asa Islands are an integral part of the Philippines over which it has sovereignty and jurisdiction,” it added.
