Delivery of 16 PHL combat utility helicopters starts early 2019

The delivery of 16 Bell 412EPI helicopters configured as combat utility helicopters (CUH) for Philippine Air Force (PAF) is expected to start first quarter of 2019 and scheduled to be completed second quarter of 2020.

The Philippines, through the Department of National Defense (DND) has signed a contract with Bell Helicopter and Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) for the delivery of said helicopters.

PAF is currently operating 8 Bell 412EPs delivered by Bell Helicopter in 2015. These were also acquired via government-to-government negotiation through CCC.

The ordered Bell 412EPIs are equipped with Bell BasiX Pro fully integrated glass flight deck, providing critical flight information at-a-glance for greater situational awareness and safety, Bell Helicopter said.

“The Bell 412EPI features the BLR Strake and FastFin system, which modifies the tailboom to optimize airflow and improve handling, safety and lift,” Bell Helicopter said.

“The 16 Bell 412EPI helicopters, fully configured and equipped with advanced features, are being acquired as part of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) modernization plans, and were purchased by the DND through a government-to-government contract with the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC),” Bell Helicopter said.
