Crew members make sure BRP Gabriela Silang is clean, safe amid COVID-19 efforts

Crew members of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)’s newest and largest vessel BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) are making sure that the ship is clean and safe amid fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

BRP Gabriela Silang, an offshore patrol vessel, is also serving as transport ship in support for government’s efforts against COVID-19.

“Araw-araw, sinisiguro ng BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) na nananatiling malinis ang lahat ng bahagi at pasilidad ng barko para sa kalusugan at kaligtasan ng mga pasahero nito,” PCG said.

“Bago umalis ng Davao City kahapon, ika-20 ng Hunyo 2020, nagsakay ang BRP Gabriela Silang ng humigit-kumulang 50 na PCG frontline personnel na tutulong sa mga inisiyatibo ng serbisyo laban sa COVID-19 pandemic, partikular sa National Capital Region (NCR),” it added.

“Isinabay rin ng BRP Gabriela Silang ang isang pamilya na gusto nang makabalik sa Maynila, matapos ma-stranded sa Mindanao noong mga nakalipas na buwan,” PCG said.

The PCG noted that the ship is providing food, comfortable accommodation, and regular health-up for its passengers. “Inaasahang makakarating ng Maynila ang BRP Gabriela Silang sa Martes, ika-23 ng Hunyo 2020,” PCG said.
