The local government of Sibagat, Agusan del Sur has declared the CPP-NPA as persona-non-grata through Municipal Resolution Nr. 137-18.
The resolution, signed by all the members of the Municipal Legislative Council and Municipal Mayor Maria Liza L. Evangelista, was passed December 21, 2018 and was released January 14, 2019.
“The declaration was due to the raid of the NPAs of the New Tubigon Patrol Base at the dawn of December 19, 2018, where the terrorists abducted 12 CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs) and two soldiers. They also carted away several firearms from the soldiers and CAAs,” the Armed Forces of the Philippines Eastern Mindanao Command (EASTMINCOM) said.
The resolution says that “the kidnapping and abduction perpetrated by the NPA is a manifestation of betrayal of achieving peace, thus disrupting the peace and security of the community.”
“We welcome the declaration of the LGU of Sibagat treating the CPP-NPA as “Persona Non-Grata”. This shows that the CPP-NPA already lost their support from the people. These terrorists only confirms their true color as the enemy of the people and that nobody should be supporting their lost ideology,” said Brigadier General Andres C. Centino, Philippine Army 401st Brigade commander.
