Newly-installed Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief-of-Staff Lieutenant General Noel Clement visited the Philippine Navy (PN) headquarters on October 3 for his official introductory visit following his assumption to the AFP’s highest post.

As part of the visit was the “Talk to Troops” where he personally addressed the officers, enlisted personnel and civilian employees aboard the headquarters to include all navy units through video teleconferencing, the Navy said.

“In his remarks, Lieutenant General Clement reechoed the marching orders that President Duterte has given him specially the continuation of modernization program and curbing of insurgencies,” the Philippine Navy said.

Navy chief Vice Admiral Robert Empedrad, together with a battalion of Marines and sailors, welcomed the AFP chief.

“It has been a military tradition that newly assumed AFP chief would make the rounds to headquarters of all major services and other military camps as a way to rally the troops, reaffirm commitment and boost their morale toward achieving overall objectives,” the Navy said.
