“The Philippine National Railways (PNR) Clark Phase 1 (Malolos-Tutuban), which forms part of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) project, is indeed going on full steam ahead,” the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said on Friday, August 9.
DOTr explained that full-blast construction of the Malolos-Tutuban rail’s elevated structures and stations in Malolos, Guiguinto and Balagtas is ongoing with continuous works for clearing and grubbing in Guiguinto, and geotechnical investigation for confirmation in both Guiguinto and Malolos.
DOTr uploaded photos of the said activities taken August 8.
“Once the PNR Clark Phase 1 is completed and fully operational by 2021, travel time from Manila to Bulacan will be reduced from two (2) hours to just 35 minutes. The rail line is expected to serve 300,000 passengers daily,” DOTr said.
