Commandant visits Marines guarding Fuga Island in northern Philippines

Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) commandant Major General Ariel Caculitan visited the Marines guarding Fuga Island in northern Philippines on March 10.

The PMC said Major General Caculitan “visited the Marines manning the geographically isolated Fuga Island to boost their morale and inspire them to be the representative of the best in soldiery in that part of the country.”

A day prior to said visit, Caculitan graced that blessing and inauguration of the newly rehabilitated and developed Headquarters of Naval Task Group Fleet-Marine Cagayan/Marine Battalion Landing Team (MBLT)-10 at Naval Base Camilo Osias, Brgy San Vicente, Sta Ana, Cagayan.

“The facility was constructed through the collaborative efforts and partnership among the Philippine Marine Corps, Naval Forces Northern Luzon, Naval Installation Command, Provincial Government of Cagayan, Local Government Unit of Sta Ana, and private entities Magnetron Construction & Development Corps and 7R’s Apartelle,” the Marines siad.

Caculitan challenged all members of MBLT-10 to be S.M.A.R.T.E.R Marines. He emphasized that all Marines should be, Superior in warfighting, Mission-oriented, Appreciated, Relevant & Responsive, Trained, Evolving and Respected.
