The combat operation conducted by Philippine Army’s 46th Infantry Battalion (46IB) operating under 10th Infantry Division (10ID) on the afternoon of March 19 has resulted to capture of 6 suspected regular communist NPA terrorist (CNT) members.

Army troops conducted the operation responding to an information received from concerned civilian that there are CNTs at Sitio Dasuran, Barangay Golden Valley, Mabini, Compostela Valley Province.

Also seized were 2 Cal .45 pistol, 1 hand grenade, 3 IEDs and other personal belongings.

“10ID forces will continuously conduct Focus Military Operations targeting the CNTs. Our forces are able to locate their (CNTs) location/position since information gathering efforts have been intensified. It’s not too late for them to surrender now,” said 10ID commanding general Major General Noel S. Clement.

“The people in the community are now more aware of the deceptions of the CNTs. Many of the NPA supporters/victims have withdrawn their support to the terrorists as observed in the past months. With this, such manifestation of the people brought down the CNTs influence in the area thereby making them (NPA) irrelevant,” he added.

“As the Local Government Units (LGUs), Local Government Agencies (LGAs), PNP and other stakeholders’ participation in anti-terrorism campaign, it’s just a matter of time that CPP-NPA Terrorists’ influence and atrocities in our Area of Responsibility will finally come to an end,” Major General Clement said.
