Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Carlos Dominguez III, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade, and Bases and Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) President and Chief Executive Officer Vince Dizon today, March 27 held a site inspection of the Clark International Airport Expansion Project at the Clark Freeport Zone in Mabalacat, Pampanga.
According to government, the project involves the construction of a new 82,600 sq. m. Passenger Terminal Building, with a design capacity of 8 million passengers per annum.
The new passenger terminal building is expected to be completed by August 2020.
“This is just a first phase of a five-phase expansion plan that is envisioned to make Clark International Airport a major gateway of the region,” Dizon said.
“Five phases over several years which will bring the capacity of Clark International Airport to 80 million passengers per year that will be at par with the biggest and most modern airports not only in the region but the world,” he added.
