“The Philippine Navy thru the [Armed Forces of the Philippines] General Headquarters has accepted the donation from the [People’s Republic of China] four patrol boats,” Philippine Navy spokesperson Commander Jonathan Zata said in a statement released to press.
Zata added that the donation was accompanied by 30 units of rocket propelled grenade (RPG) launcher with corresponding ammunition.
“The equipment provided are being assessed as to how this can be integrated within the organization and supported in the long term in terms of logistics,” Commander Zata said.
“We have assigned personnel to train on its operation and maintenance,” he noted.
MaxDefense Philippines and Philippines Defense Forces Forum uploaded photos and video footage, respectively, of the donated Chinese patrol boats late last week.
