Cebu naval base upgrade project bidding moved to July 20

The Department of National Defense (DND) Spacial Bids and Awards Committee (SBAC) has moved the deadline for submission of bids and opening of bids for Philippine Navy Basing Support and Logistics Project Phase 1 project from July 6 to July 20.

The project will be at Naval Base Rafael Ramos in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

The project has an approved budget for contract (ABC) of PHP1 billion to be sourced from Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Modernization Act Trust Fund (RA10349). Winning bidder is expected to completed the entire project within 480 calendar days from issuance of Notice to Proceed.

The project includes dredging, reclamation, putting up road networks, slope protection, wharf, beaching ramp, berthing area, water supply system, electrical distribution, and riprapping.

In Supplemental Bid Bulletin released by DND-SBAC where it answered clarifications from prospective bidders, showed that among interested bidders are LUZVIMINDA (Engineering Constructors. Consultants), MARRA BUILDERS, INC., and CHINA WUYICO., LTD. (Philippines).

According to Navy spokesperson Cmdr. Jonathan Zata, Cebu is an ideal and strategic location for the Philippine Navy as ships based there could be deployed to southern or northern Philippines easily.
