Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway construction starts

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar, Cebu City Mayor Tomas R. Osmeña, and Municipality of Cordova Mayor Mary Therese Sitoy-Cho together with officials of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC) led the start of construction of Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCCLEX) during a ceremony on July 5.

CCCLEX will be the third bridge connecting mainland Cebu to Mactan Island. It is located around 7.5 kilometers south of the Mandaue Bridge and will take off from the Cebu South Coastal Road crossing the Mactan channel to Mactan Island

Metro Pacific Tollways Development Corporation (MPTDC), a subsidiary of MPIC, in joint venture with City of Cebu and Municipality of Cordova will be developing the 8.25 kilometer tollroad.

The project is expected to be completed in 2020.

President Rodrigo Dutert led the groundbreaking ceremony of the said bridge in March 2017.
