The first of two refurbished C-130H Hercules transport aircraft from United States acquired for Philippine Air Force (PAF) has landed at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, United States Pacific Air Forces (US PACAF) said on January 28.
“US Air Force Airmen assigned to the 179th Airlift Wing, Ohio Air National Guard, Mansfield, Ohio, arrive at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii with a C-130 Hercules to be delivered to the Philippine Air Force,” US PACAF said.
“The delivery signifies the close alignment of PAF-Pacific Air Forces relations and illustrates PACAF’s commitment to the U.S.-Philippines Mutual Defense Treaty of 1951,” it added.
The said acquisition is funded jointly by the Philippine government and US through its Foreign Military Financing program.
Arrival of the first aircraft was scheduled last year but was affected by the ongoing pandemic.
