DOTr said accelerated construction pace of airport facilities will allow for the military air base to commence general aviation and turboprop operations by November this year, as instructed by President Rodrigo Duterte.

“The project covers structural works for the passenger terminal building (PTB), grade preparation for the concrete slab at the airport’s hangar, roofing and gutter installation, preparation of gravel base course and concrete pouring for the ramp and taxiway, and the construction of the drainage system at the landslide area of the airport,” DOTr said.

“The 24/7 construction of Sangley Airport in Cavite started on 13 June 2019, with the goal of aiding the decongestion of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA),” it noted.
