The future BRP Jose Rizal (FF-150) is arriving home with medical supplies donated by her shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI). She departed South Korea Monday, May 18.
“Hyundai Heavy shipped 20,000 masks, 180 bottles of disinfectant, 2,000 bottles of hand sanitizer and 300 packs of sanitizing wipes to the Philippines out of gratitude for its participation in the Korean War,” The Korea Herald said in a report.
The future FF-150 is expected to arrive on May 23 in Subic where technical inspection and acceptance will be conducted.
“Aalis ng Korea sa May 18 na at darating dito sa Pilipinas on May 23. Dederetso siya sa Subic kung saan gaganapin ang ating technical inspection and acceptance,” Philippine Navy chief Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo said over dzRH last week.
“They will test the actual fuel consumption with four engines at full speed, also with two engines at cruising speed,” the Navy chief said as quoted by PNA.
