BrahMos supersonic cruise missile to be exported to Southest Asia, Gulf

Medium-range supersonic cruise missile BrahMos, developed by BrahMos Aerospace a joint venture between Russian Federation’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya and India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), may be exported to Southeast Asian and Gulf countries this year.

“A number of South East Asian countries are ready to buy our missiles. It will be our first export and we have received increasing interest in the missiles from the Gulf countries,” Commodore S K Iyer, Chief General Manager for HR at BrahMos Aerospace, said at the IMDEX Asia 2019 exhibition as quoted by Russian news agency Sputnik.

Iyer added that the first missile export contract awaits a government to government approval.
