“Bumulong ako sa kanya at sinabi ko: ‘Boss, wag kang bibitaw. Nandirito kami at nandirito ang pamahalaang Duterte, nandirito ang Kagawaran ng Transportasyon. Wag kang bibitaw,'” epartment of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade told reporters after his courtesy meeting with Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno on July 11.
The courtesy meeting aimed to discuss transportation projects and programs of the national government that aim to bring comfort to the city’s riding public, DOTr said.
“Among the DOTr projects discussed were the free train rides for students, Tsuper Iskolar program for PUVMP stakeholders, LTO license, car registration, and the Motor Vehicle Inspection System (MVIS), which Mayor Isko committed to supporting 100%,” DOTr said.
Tugade was the first Cabinet official to visit Mayor Isko Moreno under his new mandate as local chief executive.
DOTr said that Secretary Tugade also took the opportunity to request the assistance of the Mayor on railway projects that require permits for right of way and easement issues, and support for the resettlement of illegal settlers in Aduana, Manila.
