Senator Binay raises report regarding Chinese doctors practicing profession in makeshift hospital

Senator Nancy Binay, during Senate Committee on Labor, Employment and Human Resources Development hearing on June 24, raised reports regarding Chinese doctors practicing their profession in a makeshift hospital inside a resort in Clark, Pampanga.

In May, authorities have uncovered a makeshift medical facility providing health services to Chinese nationals inside Clark. Raid of another illegal medical facility was also conducted in Angeles, Pampanga.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III told Binay that the country’s laws prohibit foreigners from practicing medicine in the Philippines.

“We will only issue a foreign national an alien employment permit (AEP) if there is no Filipino who could do the work,” Bello said.
