Filipino and American troops trained together at Colonel Ernesto Rabina Air Base in Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac on May 10 as part of Balikatan 2018. The activity included a live-fire range.
“The live-fire range focused on firing a (M240) machine gun from the top of a moving 7-ton while maintaining an accurate shot,” the US Marines said.
The US Marines added that Filipino and American troops also worked together to build single-story and double-story bridges simulating real-life scenarios.
Exercise Balikatan 2018 is the 34th iteration of the annual US-Philippine military training exercise focused on a variety of missions, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, counterterrorism and other combined military operations.
Balikatan 2018 started May 7 and will end on 18.
