Army troops seize firearms after encounter with 15 NPAs

The Commanding General, Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay lauded the successful focused combat operation of 83rd Infantry Battalion at Brgy Pugay, Baao, Camarines Sur last March 13, 2020.

The Army troops led by 2Lt Rommel Limas encountered 15 CPP-NPA terrorists at Brgy Pugay, Baao, Camarines Sur. The NPA group who were performing mass works and recruitment activities in said barangay.

The military operation resulted to the recovery of two (2) M16 rifles, one (1) M203 grenade launcher, and one (1) M1 Garand rifle, three (3) anti-personnel mines, three (3) hand grenades, seven (7) blasting caps, and two (2) rolls detonating wire.

No casualties were reported on the military side.

“I commend the troops’ excellence and teamwork that leads to a succesful operations” Gapay said. “Carry on and continue to protect our communities against all enemies of the state, for us to achieve a peaceful and progressive nation,” Gapay added. PHILIPPINE ARMY
