Army deploys newly activated battalion

The Philippine Army has sent-off a newly activated battalion on January 25. 91st Infantry ‘Sinagtala’ Battalion was deployed for active duty during a ceremony at Headquarters 7th Infantry ‘Kaugnay’ Division, Philippine Army in Fort Ramon Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija.

91IB underwent Battalion Organizational Training in 7ID training facilities from November 27, 2017 to January 5, 2018 and was officially activated on December 4, 2017.

91IB will be operating under 703rd Infantry Brigade of 7ID based in Bongabong, Nueva Ecija.

“The Sinagtala Battalion is a newly-created Battalion under the 7ID that has been projected to be tasked solely for Community Support Program (CSP) activities,” 7ID said.

During the send-off ceremony, 7ID commanding general Major General Felimon T. Santos Jr. encouraged the troops not to settle for mediocrity but rather strive to be the best in their field, despite the anticipated challenges that they will no doubt encounter, being a novice in comparison to the other Battalions of the Command.
