The deployment was held during a reception and send-off ceremony today, May 26 at the Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command, Camp O’Donnell, Capaz, Tarlac.

Philippine Army commanding general Lieutenant General Gilbert I. Gapay led the said ceremony.

The 453 new lieutenants came from Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 2020, Officer Preparatory Course (OPC) Class 71-2019, and Officer Candidate Course (OCC) Class 53-2020.

The Army said they will be deployed to various units and will lead in the frontlines against communist NPA, Abu Sayyaf Group, and other security threats.

“To the new lieutenants of the Army, you have just completed your commissioning courses, but contrary to most of you may think, your training has not ended,” said Lt. Gen. Gapay said.

“We cannot be complacent. The nation expects so much from us. We have to win, and you must learn more and lead well to win,” the Army chief added.
