Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade together with other transportation officials today, December 17 inspected the ongoing construction of Common Station in North Avenue, a project that was delayed for almost nine (9) long years, DOTr said.
According to DOTr, the Area B of Common Station is now 96% complete. Area B is under Ayala Land Inc., Area A is under the DOTr, and Area C is under the MRT-7 Project facilitated by San Miguel Corporation (SMC)
The Common Station, a 13,700-square meter concourse area will interconnect the LRT-1, MRT-3, the future MRT-7 and Metro Manila Subway.
“Papaano mo malalaman ‘yung nagagawa kung aasa ka lang sa bunganga. Kaya ako nag-iinspeksyon, at the end of the year, gusto kong gamitin ‘yung bunganga, yung mata, pati na ‘yung tenga ko at nang sa ganun pwede akong gumawa ng judgement,” said Secretary Tugade during the inspection.
DOTr said “now under 24/7 construction, the Common Station is expected to serve approximately 478,000 passengers daily once operational by 2021.”
