Pararescuemen of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) and United States Air Force (USAF) conducted a mass casualty rescue and evacuation training exercise as part of Exercise Balikatan at Clark Air Base, Philippines on May 11, 2018.
“Evaluators assessed Philippine and U.S. service member’s performance as they cared for and transported casualties in a remote location,” the US Air Force said.
Filipino airmen who participated in the training event are from the 505th Search and Rescue Group, while the American airmen are from 31st Rescue Squadron based at the Kadena Air Base in Japan.
Exercise Balikatan 2018 is the 34th iteration of the annual US, Philippines exercise.
Balikatan focuses on a variety of missions, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, counterterrorism, and other combined military operations.
Balikatan 2018 started May 7 and will end on May 18.
