“They’re asking for an “explanation on the alleged violation of the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act (e.g. continuous tricycle operation)” We complied with all directives,” Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said in a tweet.
This is after the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) reportedly summoned Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto for possible violation of Republic Act 11469 or the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act. This is in connection with the allowing of tricycles to transport health workers and patients in Pasig City.
“Hindi po illegal magbigay ng opinyon. …at alam kaya nila na March 24 naging batas ang Bayanihan Act,” the mayor added.
According to report by Iquirer.net, NBI Deputy Director Ferdinand Lavin said the purpose of the “invitation letter” is to enable Mayor Sotto to explain his side on allegation that he disobeyed the national government policy in imposing the enhanced community quarantine against the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
