Philippine Air Force (PAF) commanding general Lieutenant General Rozzano D. Briguez – during the 72nd anniversary celebration of PAF at Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base in Pasay City – announced several air assets that will be delivered starting this year.
“As we reform and transform the Air Force, we expect the arrival of one C-130 aircraft by the last quarter of this year for air mobility specially for our unified commands,” he said.
“Sixteen combat utility helicopters (CUHs) and an additional six NC-212i light lift aircraft are expected to arrive starting next year to support various operations,” he added.
He also noted that the six A-29 Super Tucano aircraft due in February 2020 shall be game changing platform which will perform surface strike in support to ground troops.
“Operational and strategic command and control shall be augmented through the arrival of two command and control fixed-wing aircraft: one C-295 arriving late July, this month, and one G-280 jet arriving by 2020,” Lieutenant General Briguez said.
“Likewise, 4 unmanned aerial systems will coming this year to support intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance for both operational and strategic functions,” he said.
