On Valentine’s Day, February 14, Philippine Air Forces (PAF) 220th Airlift Wing (220AW) conducted a lift mission for the residents of Marawi City.
220AW’s C-130 transport aircraft with tail number 3633 transported around 10,000 pounds of assorted relief goods to Laguindingan Airport in Cagayan de Oro City for the benefit of Marawi City residents.
“These relief goods consisting of assorted food rations, including niqab for Muslim women that came from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), were immediately sent to Marawi to continue providing food supplies to our displaced kababayans in various evacuation centers in the area,” the 220AW said.
220AW commander Brigadier General Stephen P. Parreño said that the airlifters will continue to transport the needed relief to these areas so to at least ease their burden of the victims of the Marawi crisis.
“Indeed, this humanitarian mission is the heartiest way of the celebrating this season of love. While most of the airlift aircraft are performing flight missions most particularly in support to various airlift requirements of the AFP, the remaining aircraft are transporting relief aid to Marawi,” 220AW said.
