The Philippine Air Force (PAF) C-130 sent to pick up BGI COVID-19 laboratory equipment on April 21 in Shenzhen, China landed at Clark Air Base in Pampanga early today, April 22.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), USD2.5 million worth BGI COVID-19 laboratory equipment can be set up in 7-10 days and can do up to 45,000 COVID-19 tests.
“The Philippine Government, thru the grant assistance from the Asian Development Bank, secured these equipment to strengthen the testing capacity of the country,” DOH said.
PAF Air Logistics Command personnel together with 710th SPOW rendered assistance in providing security, safety and disinfecting measures to BGI staffs, aircrew, aircraft and laboratory equipment.
“Indeed, these initiatives are of great help as the Air Logistics Command continues to support our government’s efforts in battling this COVID-19 pandemic,” PAF Air Logistics Command said.
