The Philippine Air Force (PAF) airlifted 22 tonnes of assorted fruits like Durian, Marang, Rambutan, Lanzones and Mangosteen on August 23 from Davao City to Baguio City in support for the first Fruit Festival by Mindanao Development Authority.

PAF utilized a C-130 Hercules and a C-295 transport aircraft. MinDA’s first Fruit Festival was held at Session Road, Baguio City from August 24 to 25.

The Fruit Festival is a joint project of the MinDA and the City Government of Baguio. The said activity aimed to promote and help Mindanao fruit vendors to sell their products and allow Baguio City and Northern Luzon consumers to buy fruits at low prices.

“This partnership symbolizes the whole-of-nation approach between government agencies toward sustainable peace and development of the country”, MinDA Chairperson Manny Piñol said.
