Air Force airlift assets full force on relief missions

“For the past four days, the airlift assets of your Philippine Air Force, C-130, C295 and NC 212i aircraft are on full force, airlifting the much needed goods to and from Virac and Legaspi,” Philippine Air Force (PAF) 220th Airlift Wing (220AW) said on November 7.

The 220AW noted that that on November 6, its C295 aircraft performed series of flight mission from Villamor Air Base to Virac, Catanduanes to airlift relief goods and operational requirements needed for the rehabilitation of Bicol Region.

“This shows that as always, your PAF is ever ready to respond around the clock. The Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response operations in response to Typhoon Rolly is a continuous operation of the PAF with other government and non-government organizations,” 220AW said.

“The quick and continuous airlift response is a reflection of impecable logistics and financial management, efficient plans and programs and excellent personnel management and upgrading. This also shows the intensive maintenance work of 470th Maintenance and Suppy Group of the 220th Airlift Wing that ensures maximum number of airlift assets that are airworthy and ready to respond anytime,” it explained.
