Four Filipino cadets of United States Coast Guard Academy (USCG) Class of 2021 have been assigned to Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessels as their first post-graduation assignment in May 2021, the PCG said.

The first class cadets are Genison C. Basilio, Eric Joseph D. Noble, Daisy Anne L. Atayan, and Dianne Shaira L. Basuel. They are sponsored Filipino cadets under the PCG Cadetship Program.

PCG said Basilio, Noble, Atayan, and Basuel “will commence their Coast Guard service in the Philippine waters by working towards the advancement of maritime law enforcement, maritime security, maritime safety, maritime search and rescue, and marine environmental protection.”

The PCG Cadetship Program is an initiative towards the organization of first-class Coast Guard Cadet Corps in the country as a precursor to the establishment of the PCG Academy.
