22 Sailors complete Basic Underwater Demolition SEAL course

The Naval Special Operations Group (NAVSOG) held the Basic Underwater Demolition SEAL (BUDS) Course Class 79 Graduation Ceremony at Headquarters NAVSOG, July 31. The Chief of Naval Staff, Philippine Navy Rear Admiral Loumer P Bernabe graced the ceremony as Guest of Honor and Speaker.

“Today is the culmination of the months of hardwork and rigorous training and a new phase of your lives. I am now sure that you now have the necessary skills, tactics, stamina and high level of commitment and spirit to deliver your tasks and missions successfully.” Rear Adm. Bernabe said.

BUDS Course Class 79 started their training last December 13, 2018 with a total of 48 persevering students. After seven months of rigorous training the class was reduce to 22 members and will now undergo SEAL Qualification Training Class 08 in a joint convening ceremony with Basic Naval Explosive Ordnance Demolition Course Class 17.
