“Seventeen soldier amputees each receive their prostheses procured through funds provided by the Office of the President on Friday, Mar. 28, 2019,” the Philippine Army said.

The ceremonial turnover of prostheses was attended by Ottobock Philippines Managing Director Peter Goldberg and Army commander Lt. Gen. Macairog S. Alberto at Joy Nostalg Hotel and Suites Manila.

“The prosthetics company also provided therapy and rehabilitation sessions on the amputees prior to the fitting on them,” the Army said. “President Rodrigo Duterte, in his bid to uplift the morale of the soldiers, allotted funds from his office to procure the prostheses.”

“In behalf of the recipients, we are truly grateful to the President for his concern to the troops. This will definitely boost the morale of our soldiers who have risked their lives fighting in the frontlines,” said Alberto.
