“Approximately 1,500 trainees were simultaneously convened in PCG regional training centers in Zamboanga City, Masbate, and Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental on 31 January 2020,” the PCG said.

PCG explained that the first half of the Coast Guardsman’s Course (CGMC) is a boot camp with focus on drills, basic soldiery, and PCG customs and traditions.

“The second half focuses on functional training on maritime security, maritime law enforcement, maritime safety, and marine environmental protection,” PCG added.
