US 7th Fleet commander reaffirms commitment with Philippine Navy

The United States Seventh Fleet Commander, Vice Adm. William Merz visited the Philippine Navy (PN) headquarters today, June 11, and paid a courtesy call on the PN Flag Officer In Command, Rear Adm. Adeluis Bordado.

The two Navy leaders during the call reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen cooperation and collaboration to ensure peace, stability, and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region as new maritime threats and challenges emerge. The long-standing partnership between the PN and the US Navy was also the highlight of the discussions.

Vice Admiral Merz is currently on official visit to the country as a gesture to sustain and promote the furtherance of the US Navy’s strong relationship and ties with the Philippine Navy and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The United States Navy’s Seventh Fleet has its headquarters in U.S. Fleet Activities Yokosuka, in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, and is part of the US Pacific Fleet. NAVY.MIL.PH
