A drug suspect was arrested and P13.6-million worth of illegal drugs were seized in a buy bust operation on March 23, Tuesday night.
Citing the reports from the PNP Drug Enforcement Group, PNP Officer-in-Charge Police Lieutenant General Guillermo Lorenzo T Eleazar, identified the drug suspect as EDGARFEEL BALONO SAKILAN alias KALBO, 42 years old, married, driver and a native of Maguindanao was arrested at Phase 1A Yakal Loop extension corner Sugarberry St., Blk 3 lot 19, Saint Joseph Village, San Pedro, Laguna by elements of SOU 3, PDEG led by PLT Jonathan Sosongco, PDEA 4A, PIB Laguna PPO and San Pedro City Police Station.
Seized from SAKILAN, who is a notorious drug courier in the area of Region 3, NCR, 4A and Mindanao area are more or less two kilograms of suspected Methampethamine Hydrochloride with DDB value of 13.6 Million Pesos, one (1) Honda City bearing plate number AEA 9728, One (1) Samsung keypad cellular phone, and two (2) genuine One thousand peso bill mixed with boodle money amounting to 1.3 Million pesos.
Investigation reveals that suspect is one of the cohorts of the arrested Michael Romualdez, a warehouseman/bodegero at Imus City, Cavite. Illegal drug supplies were from a certain Chinese National who contacted them using an international number based in Hongkong. Their illegal drug group is composed of Filipino- Muslim and Chinese nationals and illegal drug trade is operated through dispatching vehicles loaded with the illegal drugs.
According to PNP OIC Eleazar, their illegal drug transaction was discovered when one of the personnel of PNPDEG SOU3 code named as AKA ED entered the drug syndicate thru the confidential informant. From there, it was revealed that this illegal drug group is composed of Filipino-Muslims and Chinese nationals who reside at Donya Soledad, Taguig and AFP Village, Taguig. During the monitoring and surveillance of the operating teams, it was disclosed that they have been using different vehicles whenever they have an illegal drug transaction.
SAKILAN will be charged for Violation of Section 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165.
The arrested suspect was appraised of his constitutional rights in a language known to him (Tagalog) by arresting police and was brought to PNPDEG SOU 3 for documentation and proper disposition, Eleazar said.
