PNP gets 50 new light transport vehicles

The Philippine National Police has acquired Php 64.55 million worth of mobility assets to be used for administrative purposes.

On the eve of his 56th birthday, PNP Chief, Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa personally witnessed the blessing and turnover ceremony of newly procured 50 units of Light Transport Vehicles (unmarked) today, September 1, in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

The Director of Comptrollership, Police Major General Marni Marcos, who is also the current chairman of the NHQ-Bids and Awards Committee, presented to the PNP Chief the new vehicles amounting to Php 64,555,000 sourced from the Capability Enhancement Program (CEP) 2020.

Marcos said the new mobility assets will be distributed to the Command Group, D-Staff, National Support Units, Office of the Secretary of Interior and Local Government, PNP Peace Process and Development Center, Philippine National Police Academy, and Philippine National Police Training Institute to boost its administrative capabilities.

Aside from the PNP Chief, members of the Command Group, Acting Director for Logistics, PBGen Angelito Casimiro, and members of the Procuring Entity were also present during the ceremony.

Gamboa said these latest additional assets are part of the continuing effort of the PNP leadership and the national government to further enhance the modernization program of the PNP. PNP-PIO
